"The Beginnings Concert was perhaps the finest quality musical endeavor I've ever been a part of. I am excited that this fine concert will finally be seeing release on DVD. It was truly a blessing to work with my peers in such a quality environment, and that the anointing which has resided on all of us over the years, has not diminished. "
BIOGRAPHY
Chuck Girard is one of the first contemporary Christian music artists, and founding member of the early Christian rock group Love Song. Chuck has ministered for over 35 years.
Before his conversion to Christ in 1970, he was lead singer for the Castells, who's hits included "Sacred" and So This Is Love". Later he joined forces with Gary Usher to become lead singer on many hot-rod/surf records, most notably, "Little Honda" by the Hondells, on which he sang lead. He worked with Brian Wilson on a few songs, and his group the Castells, is one of the few artists outside of the Beach Boys that Brian Wilson ever produced.
In the late 60's, Chuck began experimenting with psychedelic drugs and eastern religion, searching for a relationship with God. Chuck’s search for God ended in 1970 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord. “I had a deep release as I wept before God, and felt such a cleanliness in my spirit, unlike anything I'd ever experienced before.” After his new birth, Chuck and 4 friends formed the group Love Song, a major force in the early ‘70’s revival known as the Jesus Movement. Love Song became the first group to play rock oriented music in the Christian setting and gain international acceptance and popularity.
Today, with a renewed vision for evangelism, Chuck continues to record, travel, preach and teach, doing his best to serve God in any way he can.
